Morning departure, from wherever you are staying, to visit the city of Siena famous for its Palio, its “contrade” or neighbourhoods, its narrow streets and little mediaeval squares. In the early afternoon we make our way towards the ancient mediaeval village of Monteriggioni, which will captivate you with its enchanting atmosphere, fortified circular shape and its 14 stone towers, compared by “the Divine Florentine Poet” Dante Alighieri to the “Giants” of his Inferno (XII-XIII – The Divine Comedy ).
The afternoon draws to a close with our arrival in San Gimignano, one of the most famous and beautiful cities in Tuscany. Entirely encircled by walls, San Gimignano is also well-known for its numerous towers, as well as its churches which hide (and reveal) art works of extraordinary beauty.
